I'm having problems with my sub bumping which I'm fairly certain is the LOC (see other post) but I want to rule out bad earth.

I've earthed my amp under the passenger side boot carpet. Two bolts go through a black bar about an inch apart and I've used one of them. I can put photos up if you need them?

Is this a good place to earth?
 
As long as it's coming into contact with bare metal of the car body, you can put it anywhere. Mine's connected to a bolt near the back seats IIRC.
 
It's coming into contact with the bare metal of the bolt but the bar underneath is painted black.

I'm pretty certain it is a good earth but it's put doubt in my mind.
