Crunchy/rattling noise when starting engine plus warning light

Hi I purchased and Ep3 about 3/4 weeks ago, it was fine but recently when I start the engine I sometimes get a crunching/rattling noise for half a second, has become more common especially when the car is cold, I thought it might be the start motor at first but then my engine warning light came on yesterday, added to this I get a slight buzzing noise when I accelerate. Would I be right in thinking it might be the timing chain possible the belt aswell? (After driving it home from the selling I did check the oil and it was low so promptly filled it up and but think it might have already had an effect)
Would much appreciate some guidance.
 
The noise at startup could be the starter motor. It’s a high pitched noise and quite common.

The engine light may have been due to the oil.
