Engine Oil EP3

I've read through the oil mans thread but there are far too many suggestions.

I found out online for the EP3 I should be using 5w 40 fully synthetic I think it was. I didn't want to buy crap though so didn't get the brands at morrisons petrol station.

Went to halfords and they only have 10w 40 or 5w 30.

Would a decent 5w 30 be better or worse than a 5w 40? Where would I get a decent 5w-40?

I get the ultra synthetic shell stuff by the 20litre tubs. Cheap too!!!

Just going to top it up with some 5w 40 fully synth but not expensive, just some bullshit so it has enough in and is not in danger.

I'll change all the oil and the filter using good stuff in the future.

Your much safer not mixing oils for long. Get a complete oil change done sooner than later.

Ok cheers. I'll change the lot for some shell 5w 40 fully syth stuff. I imagine the garage that did the service would have just banged in some 10w 40 standard stuff in any case.
