Ep3 gear knob removal

Help!!

i have gone through the how to and help guides and cannot find the answer to this, apologies if I am looking in wrong place but..

I cannot for the life of me remove my gear knob, I have a new one to fit but just cannot get the old one to budge, does anyone have a magical way of getting this off?

Hold the gear knob and use a spanner to losen the nut underneath it, then just unscrew the knob by hand. Replace with new gear knob and tighten nut.

Thanks, I just can't get the nut to move, perhaps I'll have a couple of wetabix and give it another go!

Spray with WD40 maybe?
