Hi all started my ep3 up after it’s not been driven for nearly 48hrs and for a second I could hear this grinding/rattling sound, my first thought was it’s the starter not disengaging (the k20 sneeze) The car only makes this sound after not been driven for a few days and not ever after switching the car off and on again.
Idles fine drives good no rattling, I believe it could be the tensioner.
A test I did this morning when the car was cold, i flicked the ignition on before cranking over just to ‘prime’ the car and no noise. Seems like the noise is only made when you turn the key all the way to start up the car without waiting a few seconds.
