Kenwood/Pioneer Apple car play

Hi guys

Does anyone have or have any reviews on these units, im not sure of the exact product code. I have the OEM nav unit in my EP3 at the moment but it hasn't worked for a couple of years, i can only play CDs and the radio on it so its started to annoy me now as it has the nav disk error coming up all the time.

So im thinking of an upgrade and was think the apple car play units

Any advice would be great

I'd go for an Android one off amazon for £209. I've had CarPlay before and it isn't as good as having an Android unit. Certainly not for the amount of money they are!

Cheers, might be a daft question but what is an android unit, is it basically the same but can be connected to all phones as opposed to just Apple

It's basically an android tablet with an amp and some customisation for being a head unit. Most of the CarPlay stuff all runs on Linux or android based units anyway so it's the same thing. I've got one in my DC5 and I can stream Bluetooth from my phone etc.

I've got the Pioneer CarPlay unit and I find it a bit glitchy at times.
It's nice to be able to go through your music and select playlists etc but adding backgrounds takes an external memory drive.

It's ok but it wouldn't bother me if I hadn't got it. If that makes sense.

The sat nav is good but I'd rather use google maps.
