MUGEN CAI vs. V-SPEC replica

Messages

hi,

i've been reading up about the mugen cai and the v-spec and am very interested in both. (DC2)

i can't seem to find anything confirming the differences between the two as i want the v-spec one because it's cheaper but want to know if it gives the same gains?

any advice greatly appreciated (especially if this has already been covered)

Mugen dont make a CAI, they make an air box which in my opinion is crap and over priced. Get yourself an AEM for the best power/value for money.

Oh this is for a DC2, sorry, I thought you meant for a CTR. No idea, Hasnic would be the best person to ask.

I run a ITG closed carbon airbox which has been proved as one of the best if not the nest intake for the DC2, not loud at all just makes the engine note a bit deeper and improves low down torque and has given 7hp improvement. I haven't had a good look at the V-spec kit but i think the mugen one is vastly over priced for what it is in all honesty!

i think i'll look into the itg one then, what model is it and do you have a link as to where i can get one

cheers 8)

ITG maxogen is the kit

It's still not cheap but is regarded pretty highly as is the mugen but then its even more money than the ITG!

Only thing i will say with the ITG is it's a pain to fit.

I heard the Mugen was just as bad to fit, I think you have to remove the bumper as with the ITG?
