New car oil

Hi, a bit of advice needed really, ive had my car 4 weeks now and im wanting to buy some oil to keep to top up as and when needed in between oil changes. I dont know what oil was used previously but it was only serviced last in October so my question really is, can i use another oil top top up the current oil thats in it E.G if i use a good 5w40 and do you think the last garage used will have a record of the oil used in it, (i think that will be quite doubt full) any ideas.

Honest opinion, get a full oil change so you'd know what type/brand of oil it has.

Fuchs Titan race pro 5w40 is what I recommend!

I was thinking that option, ill have a look into to that oil, is that what you are running on.

Yeah, so you'd know what oil it has and you have new engine oil too. ;)

Yeah that's what I'm using and that oil is what people will recommend you to use.

What everyone else has said. Although any fully synthetic 5w40 would be fine.

Very unlikely the garage would have put a 5w40 in.
