FK2 OBD CODE READER

Can anyone recommend a reader that will communicate with a 2015 FK2 type r.
Bought the FOXWELL NT301 reader off Amazon but i can't get it to communicate with car.
Tried numerous times but get same message,

Foxell are a good diagnosis tool however you will need to buy the software(in this case honda) which cost 50 quid they are downloadable from foxwell website

Can anyone recommend an OBD reader that will read and clear codes without having to buy extra software or upgrades.

Basically plug in straight from the box and it connects to the car, reads and resets error codes.

I have a few I used on my prev car (DC5) and they all worked fine out the box and were bought from amazon
