overfill

slightly over filled my oil to about 5 mm above the top dot just before the stick starts to twist! seems to run fine but will this cause any problems?

Yes, whip the drain plug out and drain some off, top up accurately to correct level.
Too much oil can be as bad as too little.

Well it is about a litre from the bottom mark to the top and that is about 10mm. Long and short, drain it.

If you can't do it yourself, take it to any garage and they'll probably charge you a fiver cash to jack it up and crack the nut off for a few seconds.
