New to the CTR and as the other half always says im paranoid when it comes to my cars so bare with me.

Getting a slight tapping noise from the 03 Ep3 ive got. Done a quick video of it just about here it over the normal engine noise.

On 83k and unsure when if at all its had the valve clearance done.

Am i being paranoid and all is well or does it sound like i should get it done or is it sounding like something else?

Thanks.

No harm getting it done. They should be done every 25k and there's a good bet if you don't have a receipt for it or a tick in the book, then it hasn't been done!

It normally costs about £100 over the price of a normal service for the time but obviously depends where you take it. Honda have a fixed price of £100 over the service price for it.

Thanks for the replies and putting my head at rest. It's almost ready for service time so going to hold off and have it done then. Cheers.

It sounds fine to me. But, as our glorious leader Loxy said, you may as well get it done anyway.

Jamieboy showed me an awesome trick for finding engine noises a while ago; put a screwdriver against the engine and your ear against the end of the handle. Move it around until you find where the noise is coming from. It really helps to find the source of a noise in a noisy engine bay. We found my nasty bunged up fuel rail like that.
