FN2 Poor gear select

Hij just bought 2008 fn2 100.000 miles and finding hard to select gears while driving.ok when engine off any ideas cheers

You can check by trying to pull away in a high gear, the car should stall. But it does sound like classic clutch symptoms, and if there's no history of it being done then it is most likely the culprit.

Maybe try changing the gearbox oil first, it's a cheaper option - but I agree with Chris its probably the clutch but worth a try...
