Problems starting

about two weeks ago the car had a problem when it started that it was idling low to the point of almost stalling, came out to it yesterday and it wont ignite, the battery seems to be ok and was replaced about 6 months ago. also has about 1/4 tank of petrol.

its turning over but you just never get the kick.
 
right not the battery so more expensive now, I dunno why but im thinking fuel filter or something fuel related

Could be a poor batch of fuel, top it up with something from a different garage and see if that works :?:
 
had the plugs out and cleaned them up, they are borderline for being changed anyway mileage wise, clearance is fine though.

after replacing the plugs it did just about start..well chug then stalled again, since that just back to turning over and over
 
Are you getting a spark from the plugs?

If you are, check to see if you are getting fuel?

Remove a sparkplug and place it against the cam-cover to earth it and turn the engine over, you should be able to see it spark across the electrodes. :wink:
 
decided it was gonna start today, had some wierd behavior though of the car revving itself to 2k and then back down to 1 then up then down...no idea what its doing :lol:

yes fine again now, going to order a few bits and give the old girl an overhaul
