Red spark and manifold cover bolts?

Messages

Does anyone know where i might find some red bolts that would fit the spark and manifold covers? Doing some engine touch ups over the next few weeks and think it might be a good addition.

The Plug cover has two dome nuts and two bolts which despite looking the same are what really hold the cover in place.
If you buy the Tegiwa dome nuts you will only be able to fit two of them to the plug cover.

They dont fit onto the intake manifold cover either as that's actually bolted to a bracket.
Few picks below to demonstrate

Ah i see! thanks for the pics mate! They are a great help, I have already ordered the dome nuts in red, I think I may spray the heads of the back silver ones black, then heavily coat them in laquer to avoid the paint scratching off when getting tightened (possibly wont work, but worth a try i guess) and probably do the same to the manifold bolt heads and rocker cover washers. The plan is to have an all black and red engine area, got hold of a black mugen oil cap, mugen rad cap, and mugen reservoir mugen sock today, so looking forward to getting stuck in... weather is mighty cold at the moment though, hopefully it will warm up this weekend (doubtful). I will need my fingers for this job!

No problem at all mate, glad they helped you out.
You might be able to paint & lacquer them but I suspect they would get chipped when tightening them back up unless you use some really strong paint.
Sounds like you have bought some nice goodies there for the engine bay, I also have Mugen Oil & Radiator caps on mine, here's a more recent picture of my bay - make sure you post some pics up of your car when your finished mate

That looks really nice, dont see orange so much, like it! And like the induction pipe and gruppe m, really want a gruppe m but dont have the funds at the moment unfortunately, do the tweiga induction pipes fit the oem air box? I might invest in a red one to brighten the bay a bit. Will definitely get some pics sorted once im done!

Yeah mate the Tegiwa intake hose will fit on the OEM airbox, its identical to the SFS hose.
Mine is a Tegiwa Airbox mate which the Gruppe M copy, so I dont get brownie points for that but its basically identical bar the quality of carbon fibre :) plus it costs £330 instead of £900.
They sound amazing in VTEC, such an aggresive induction note :) lovit it!

I might invest in the hose then! Still cant really afford a tweiga airbox at £330 at the moment haha, got the tax coming up soon :( ive got a magenex catback on at the moment that the previous owner fitted, its loud enough for me, wouldnt really want it any louder tbh... its the drone on 60mph roads that kills me, but sounds good when going into vtec so willing to put up with the drone... haha

Yeah I know how you feel mate, its not cheap modifying a Civic Type R, everything is expensive bar the oil :)
Has your magnex system got the Oval tail pipe then? I'm running a Spoon N1 with a Supersprint Unsilenced B-Pipe on mine and its very loud haha
Sounds like a superbike when in VTEC but it can be very droney at 60mph unfortunately but its something I can live with, mines booked in for a Piper Manifold next so its only going to get louder :D

yeah its the oval pipe, suites the car quite well i think, was going to revert back to the oem system when i got it, but its grown on me now so going to keep it on!

So i got round to dressing the engine this weekend, took me 8 hours all in all.

Couldnt seem to get the dirt spots off the manifold, tried for about an hour, wasnt getting anywhere so gave up! Will try again next time!
Would love a tweiga induction hose and a strut brace to add to it, but pretty much there otherwise.

used:
gunk degreaser (wasnt too impressed)
turtlewax back to black
tweiga red anodised bolts
mugen brake resiviour sock
mugen oil cap
mugen rad cap (didnt catch it in the picture)
gloss black spray to spray the mani and spark covers
