Spoon N1 Backbox Rattling?? Any Suggestions?

Hi Guys,

This may have been covered in a previous thread if so please don't shoot me just point me in the right path...

Since fitting my N1 backbox there is an annoying tapping/rattling when idling/driving, etc I've checked for any loose bolts and they are all fine but I just cannot locate where the noise is coming from, it gets better as the car gets warmer and I have read it could be the rubbers as I'm using the originals....if this is the case can anyone recommend the best..and possibly cheapest solution?

If it is the rubber mounts then I'm confused....the N1 looks considerably smaller than the OEM so surely there should be no rattle at all

:confused::confused::confused:

Cheers in advance

is your rubber hanger from center section in the same position as if it was a left angeled triangle. if it is try turning it anti clockwise so it looks like a pyramid i.e long part at bottom? from this http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s506/kazmataz73/untitled_zps64c4daed.png

thank you for the highly detailed drawings there ;-) i'm joking, much appreciated!

Could be the bend over the axle touching the underside of the car. Mine does it.

I will get it up on the ramps again at the weekend and have a good look

cheers guys

i know. but its hard to draw with the computer. still give van gough a run for his money NOT!!! forgot to ask, do you have silenced or unsilenced b-pipe? if its silenced could be that which is hitting your heat shield.

Silenced (OEM) B-pipe - considered aftermarket/unsilenced but would probably attract too much unwanted attention where I live.

it will be the hangers as they are not long enough

i am using these on my n1

cut them to fit your requirements

Sorry bit of a novice, would I need to replace only the mounts near the N1 or all?

The two at the back holding the backbox up. Tenner or so for those hangers. Will give them a go I feel.

correct, just need two of them for the actual N1 backbox.

adjust to the height you need to get clearence and then you can either cut them down or leave them as is if you want the option to move them around/swap backboxes as i have done.
