TPS settings

hi i put a throttle body on my ep3 a while ago and wanted to know if any one knows what the correct settings are for the TPS i have found one saying you put the red wire to the centre plug and black to ground from a volt meter put the key on and it should read 0.45v when closed and about 5v when open any one know if this is right ???????

Sounds right, on the landrovers I work on they range from 0.5/0.6 - 4.7/4.8 ish.

I can only assume most tps are similar.

Yes. Most sensors work on a 5v system.

Using 0-0.5v and 4.5-5v typically as a diagnostic system.

So yes, between 0.5v closed and 4.5v wide open.

There should be 3 wires.
One will be a 5v supply.
One will be earth.
One will be signal.

You want to probe the signal wire and earth I get the readings.

If you probe the supply and earth, you will see a constant 5v when throttle is open and closed.

Thanks guys just got them numbers off the Acura thing with the same motor but less power but by sounds of it it is right thanks again for you help
