What is this rubber cover?

Hi,

I have a 2004 ep3.

I noticed this rubber cover under car and I’m wondering if this is off the car or not (could have rolled under the car)?

If it’s off the car, what is it and where does it go?

It also has a bit of oil on it.

I think that sits on top of the gearbox as a breather - sits near the where the gear cables link to the box.
Have you been working in that area under the air box?

I found where it goes .

Yes - I removed the air box to make room for cleaning the engine bay. I unknowingly caught it which popped it off the gearbox.
