Whining Noise in Vtec

Messages

Just had valve clearance done and fresh Mobile 1 put in all by Honda main dealer .Thing is car is whining in vtec band upper level (hard to describe but screaming noise).Car is pulling strong in every gear in fact shaking a bit towards changing up. car is fn2 60000 full history .any ideas .I thought maybe Run it abit see if it beds down ? thing is don't want to do any damage

a) was it like it before the service?
b) take it back to your dealer - they are best placed to investigate

Bit of a update .Car has been back into dealer today and been out with master tech guy .He is unsure what is causing the noise .Stating it could be a worn alternator belt as look worn. Telling me the noise has probably been there a while and its incidental I ve just noticed it after valve clearance (rubbish me thinks) Type r is all about the vtec ??? I know my car and would have noticed it. The shaking under load is down to a faulty drive shaft but they don't know which one . Normal process is to swap them with one on the forecourt (another type r) until found faulty one ,difficult that as theres not any on there fore court. My car was running perfectly before this service, valve clearance and had none of these faults. .I have now dealt with three different main dealers in the area I live all owned by the same group. My first experience they turned my road angel halo off whilst they had car and messed me around with two repairs (clutch pedal and sub frame) .And now this .They still have my car and I wont be picking it up until fixed ...Honda uk and japan next stop me thinks

Standard main dealer customer service unfortunately. Laughing at that method of finding the driveshaft fault. Hope you get it sorted.

Another update. So now been informed whining noise has gone .New alternator belt fitted. But want me to test drive to be sure. The shaking under load is a faulty drive shaft they think. They don't know which one but will start with centre one .(only ever seen on diesels before) . My car was running spot on before last service 14 miles ago . And they are trying to claim on my approved warranty for drive shaft . Has anyone else had these issues (Fn2 60000 2 owner full Honda service history car). No advice warning of worn belt on service No advice warning 250 miles ago when clutch pedal replaced nor drive shaft fault. Just to be clear car was running perfect before taken in for service...And before taking to three of these dealers owned by same group . When would you involve Honda uk? Japan ?

Maybe they fitted a supercharger

in in all seriousness I wouldn't be happy if the car was doing that after a service as has been said usual useless main dealer customer service

car update ..Told drive shafts have seized metal on metal now got to wait for lubricate to work before removal. Honda require photos from garage .All iknow is its done 24 miles since service/valve clearance when it was running fine .Picked it up and have these issues, dealer has had my car for near two weeks .Anyone got any ideas what my next move should be ..Honda themselves ,trading standards or solicitors ??

Got to be honest lads I have now lost faith with car due to issues caused by these dealerships and this group owner. my car has been to three of there dealerships, and all are poor at customer service and looking after our cars (they have no clue). Im not mentioning there name at this point due to possible legal action, however if not sorted I will post my full experience on here about this group and dealerships so no one has to go through what I'm experiencing .They make light of a good Honda name

Feel sorry to hear you have this experience mate..that is why I don't trust any of the dealership, I've done and fix most of my car problems through out the years, if something can't do then just go the the specialist. But honda's are reliable, can't go wrong for no reason.lol
