TJ, thanks for explaining all that. The car is due it's 81k service soon, as it's currently on 78k. I think I'll take it to the dealer in Altrincham, as I used to take my old car (04 Accord Sport) there for services and they were excellent, even cleaning and valeting the car every time it went...

Just back from football, I have a bruised rib and a bruised ego after losing 12-3! I'm off to ring the dealer now, then hopefully Paul at System-R if the dealer hasn't sorted my problem. SF, the dealer claims to have cleaned the EGR valve which made no difference, but thanks for the heads-up...

Update: My car is still at the dealers in Warrington. They've made little effort to keep me updated, I've had to call them every time. They say they have cleaned the EGR valve, cleaned something else that they were very vague about, and when I spoke to them yesterday they were 'adjusting...

Very nice and tidy, TW. Apart from the bumber scuffs which I assume were done by your missus and not you!? Any exterior mods planned? I'm hoping to get rear privacy tints, a nice subtle grille, and perhaps painted calipers and that's my lot for the exterior I reckon.

Yeah, disconnecting the battery is an option I guess, but a bit messier. I have my manual here so I'll have a browse now.

To cure my own curiosity, does anyone know how to do this on an ATR? Same fuse? Also, if your ECU was going into 'safe mode' for a valid reason, is it safe to assume that it will go back into 'safe mode' straight away to stop any damage occuring? Cheers Dan
