2nd Hand Piper manifold and sports cat worth buying?

I've been offered a 2nd hand Piper Manifold and sports cat for the ep3.
The cost would be £400 inc postage.
The cheapest I can see new is £662 + shipping.

I was wary of buying 2nd hand but reading into it, it might not be a bad thing to buy a 2nd hand one that's a couple of years old as it would have already been subject to the heat stresses and would have bedded in so to speak.
I have been told it's in good condition and the part is from a Honda parts specialist.

Is the extra money worth the warranty would you say?

I would be getting this to fit to my existing Supersprint B-pipe and would it properly with a K100 ecu remap and the uprated engine mount inserts. Probably TDi North to do the work.

The piper catalytic converter isn't much good. If it isn't already, it'll be rattling around inside and you'll need a good "Italian tune up" to get it through emissions come MOT time.
The manifold however is well manufactured and gives decent gains. I made 240bhp at TDI North with other supporting mods including a Piper manifold with decat section fitted.

Fair enough. Thanks for the input .The sports cat is the weak point of the deal. I might as well spend the extra money and get a new system with warranty.
