4th Gear crunches?

Hi All,

it's not all the time, but when putting into 4th from 2nd it crunches alot. I tend to skip 3rd for no real reason other than 1st and 2nd get me into 30mph threshold very easily, so 3rd is not needed there.

it also happens when the revs are quite high from any gear into 4th. is this a common thing?
 
It could be worn syncros or worn clutch...

2nd gear synchro is a common issue.
try changing the gearbox oil to see if it helps..
 
If I was high revving in 3rd going to 5th it would crunch, it could be the syncro but I have changed by gear box oil and that has seemed to work for me but thinking of upgrading the clutch for next year track time
