A standard EP3.

I think this is the right place....

I'm new so I thought to post a picture of what arrived recently. My intro thread that I made 10 mins ago can be found here, if interested.

It's a 'normal' 2005 UK Civic, but I am very pleased with in short. I wish I bought one years ago :D I wish I 'went Honda' years ago in fact.

Anyway, here are some pictures (maybe a few of you will recognise these pictures from another forum which I am active on).

Plans for the car are

- Refurbish of wheels
- Paintless dent removal from the driver door
- Tidy up of a little scuff on the rear of the car
- To keep the car OE standard
- Service it with anything it needs

Before:

And then the other raging Honda in the household.

Welcome, lovely EP3.

Is that a Placky 90?, I got one for my 12th Birthday, best birthday ever.

Yes she's a 90. A 1992 model with 16,000 miles (apparently). It's been in bits for the last month, after I decided it was a good idea to pull it apart the day after buying it.

I've had a few bikes, and have another one currently, but I bought this 90 for a laugh basically. The running costs are so negligible that it's just nice to own it. It's like a pushbike to work on, and you can just jump on, tootle down the road into the town at whatever speed you want, so long as you don't want to go faster than 50mph on flat ground . Going slow isn't an issue, it's just nice to sit on the massive sponge seat and take in the scenery!

A previous Honda was a VFR800 VTEC, which was interesting! I do miss this bike too, I guess that's what Hondas are like.

I guess an interior shot of the CTR wouldn't go amiss.

Totally standard car.

I do want to get a fresh set of Honda mats, as there is wear in the driver one.

Seriously how clean do you need your car? That looks factory fresh.

The Honda 90 was (is) a cracking bike, I loved mine, had it for 3 years before it was stolen.

These pictures are a week old now - I cleaned it the day after we brought it home.

I like to clean a car thoroughly when I first get it, so that I can get up close to the paintwork, into the nitty gritty of the interior, and see if there are any imperfections that I missed in the viewing. Thankfully the only things I saw in this cleaning session, were the things I was told about by the owner. Sometimes you buy a car thinking it's 'great' and then start to see things that you missed in the viewing.

Yeah the C90 is a thief's dream I guess. So many are nicked, and then end up getting ragged off road, or put into a canal next to some Kwik-Save trolleys. :(

I used to be relatively active on DW, but haven't even logged on there in a while. I got 'into' detailing a few years ago, learned the fundamentals, and sorta left it at that. The CTR hasn't had a machine polish or even a wax - those images were just a pre-rinse and wash, clay, then a rewash and dry with an open hose, then finished with some Megs Endurance tyre gel.

Sadly I live on some very dirty roads, so a clean car stays clean on the driveway, then it ruined the moment it touches the road, well in winter that is. In the summer, it isn't a problem.

Thanks anyway :D

All I used was all purpose cleaner ('Daisy' I think) slightly diluted with some water, and then a microfibre cloth, and a bucket of warm water. Nothing too special at all, but does the job pretty well. I will go at it in more detail another time - maybe when the roads aren't covered in salt :(

This thread is nearly a year old, but I'll share what else has happened to the EP3 since we've had it.

I didn't like these worn pedal surrounds, so got a couple of new one from Honda.

The mats were very worn to say the least, so some freshening up was in order.

Cabin filters needed doing.

Some new MTF3 for the gearbox.

I decided Jazz washers would be a nice addition.

Coolant and pads as part of routine servicing, as well a HAMP oil filter and Motul 5w40.

Weathering of the headlights never looked pleasant.

How it looked mid-year. The wheels still needed a refurbishment at this time.

So a trip to "The Wheel Specialist" resulted in this.

The badge never looked great. So it was sorted.

This is what it looked like a couple of weeks ago, and still does now.

Today it had some Millers Nanodrive as part of a healthy diet (thought I'd give it a try), and it's only ever had V-Power with us.

The next jobs in the coming couple of weeks are ARB drop links, track rod ends, bottom arms and ball joints, and finally a renewal of the front engine mount, as I think it's about to split (I've been feeling a tiny increase in vibration).

Still love the car, not a bad word to say about it at all.

Awesome. OEM FTW.

What are you using on the headlights in that pic mate? They came out well!
