Advice needed please. Gearbox mount issue!

About 10 months ago I had my clutch changed. Had a nightmare time with the garage (clutch specialist) who knackered by n/s hub. Over the past 2 months have developed an awful knock. Changed everything I can drop links, hub, ball joints. Have today gone to change the gearbox/transmission mount and found that one of the bolts has been over torqued and stripped the thread in the gear box where the mounting bolt goes in. Am fuming . Any advice other than the usual drive the car up his ass etc. Any way I can get it retreated and use a slightly larger bolt.
Thanks in advance

You could probably use a helicoil. Tap the ruined hole out a little larger than it should be, and use a thread insert, and then screw in an original sized bolt. Im pretty sure you can buy the kit for less than £20, with instructions.

Thanks dude I'll do some research.

Be aware tha the kit may be £20 but a decent set of taps/dies (or even just one) can also be a significant cost.

Tom's right though, this does seem to be the cleanest solution if there's allowance in the casting. The other option is to buy a second-hand bell-housing, but that's a bit more aggressive.

I managed to borrow a proper set of Helicoils and all the necessary items highly recommended. May invest in a set it was so easy. Torqued down perfectly chuffed. Massive money saving.

Thanks to all who answered!!!
