hey guys

recently joined this forum as im planning on buying an civic ep3 type r in the next few weeks,
one of my friends mates is selling one,
its an 02 plate with 100k miles
silver with black aftermarket whees (not sure on make)
he is taxing it at end of month and MOT is untill september.

he said he wants around 2700 for it.

now im no expert on civics after owning 3 saxo's in the past 3 years but what would you think i should offer him?
is 2500 reasonable? i just dont want to be taking the **** lol

also when i go to view that car is there any know common faults that i should especially look out for?

any help would be good as im a complete civic noob at the minute

cheers

Paul

Buyer's guide here: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/s...-guide-to-the-EP3-CTR-including-buyers-guide!

It's up to you what you offer him. It depends on condition and history, both service and accident history, whether it needs a service now, needs tyres etc. At 100k it's coming to the stage where it would benefit from having the suspension bushes re-done to freshen up the feel of the car.

That sort of price does seem to be what the early EP3s are coming down to though.

Have a look round it, find out what needs doing, mention these bits to him and ask him what is the lowest he'll accept. Seems a fair way of doing it since he's a friend.
