FN2 any ideas funny smell

bit of a weird one had remap and tegiwa intake done start of march no probs at all awesome until last 3 days if i hit vtec and give it some after there is a sort of burning smell only for a few seconds it pulls like a train still and if i drive like miss daisy nothing oil water everything else is fine any ideas appriecated

Is it only when your in vtec or do you notice this while stand still?

no only when i give it some nothing at all on tickover or normal driving

Maybe just oil burning.

What about when the fan kicks in at idol? Do you get the same smell?
Could be just oil burning off. Best to check for any leaks under the bonnet too.
Keep an eye on the oil levels... as a k20 owner you should be used to that.

Your not abusing the clutch are you? Any slippage?

When you vtec it burns more oil so thats probably all it is.

Does it smell of marzipan? I had that smell when running in a new cat and exhaust. Went away after about 500 miles

glad most of you thought burning a bit of oil i did go a tiny bit over max about 3 months ago went i topped up but never had it till i had it mapped it maybe that was a red herring and i must admit i probably have drove her a bit harder than normal last couple of weeks just loving the intake and remap thanks for replys
