Anything to look out for before buying an ep3

Just wondering if you guys have any advice on issues/common faults to look out for on a 2004 ep3 type r. Been to see it today and it looks in good condition, FSH with them being done every 10k. Just want to make sure theres nothing i should be looking out for? Also when would it be due a major service and what needs done then? Cheers

The main thing no one ever does is to give the bodywork a good once over. Look for evidence of resprays ( pitting and orange peel). Bad panel fitment and the condition of the paint work. Also check the wheel trims are ok and not bent out of place, could indicate a crash repair.You would not be impressed to splash the cash then discover somthing later. The engine is bullet proof just check oil has been changed and service intervals have been met.

Check oil! One of the most important things on a K20! Also check for usual signs of damage and get the car Hpi'd.

Front end panel gaps, the front end on the EP3 is notoriously soft by design for pedestrian safety. The downside is the slightest (and I mean the slightest) knock can push everything out of whack.

Check bonnet gaps, and where the wing meets the door. If you can pull the grille poppers up and remove the front grille then inspect the slam cross member and the crash bar, radiators etc.
