Hi all,
It's been ages since I last posted a thread on here so thought I'd write up a new post as I've had a few cars since my last ep3!
So back in summer 2012, I sold my last ep3:
I fancied a change and wanted to get boost! I decided to sell my ep3 for a cheap price (lost a lot of money on it) and purchased a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX STI (320bhp 300lbs/ft):
The previous owners had kept it up together and spent a lot of monies on it (handling was ridiculous), they are a completely different animal to the ep3, better grip, handling and acceleration but they also cost A LOT MORE to run...
Sadly within a few months of buying it, me and the missus were kicked out (I was living at her mum's at this point), which meant that I was paying rent + bills and trying to run this car as a daily soon become too expensive (was only averaging 20mpg and needed a major service)... so I had to sell and get something sensible for the first time in 4 years...
I ended up purchasing a 2006 (56) Honda Civic 1.8 ivtec SE, good allround car, decent interior, ok performance, 40+ mpg... but obviously this was nothing compared to the Scooby and within 12 months I ended up selling it.
As I was still renting at the time, I wanted to go back down the hot hatch route and only had 3.5k to spend... the choice was obvious - another ep3 lol.
So as of August last year (2014) I purchased a 2004 (53) Cosmic Grey Type R:
Other than a headunit and some Type R door sills, it was completed standard - had a few marks here and there but it was relatively good condition for it's age...
Since owning it, I've done the following:
- K&N typhoon intake
- Eibach 30mm springs
- Front camber bolts
- Tegiwa RARB (progress copy)
- Window tints
- HID kit (8000k)
- Pioneer 8" sub
The plans stop there though... as I'm looking to buy a DC5 within the next couple of weeks (with long term plans going down the turbo route )
Some more recent snaps:
Thanks for looking!
Car will not be for sale sadly - as I'm part ex'ing it with the DC5!
Cheers,
Ash :smt039
