Back firing

What are the common causes of back firing?

Overfueling.

Can be set on the ecu (programmable one) iirc. Highly common on turbo cars etc, lift off over fuel, which dumps excess fuel straight into the exhaust when you let off, and due to the heat of the exhaust it causes it to ignite.

Edit : Just read you said backfiring, and nothing to do with flames :lol: :lol: Might have some relation though (i hope!) :lol:
