Bad vibration/rumbling noise under deceleration and in reverse - Help!

Hi guys, i've got a problem with my car, if anyone can help it would be most appreciated!

Had the car on road for first time in 2 weeks yesterday and thought a bit of vibration etc might just be due to it being laid up. Throughout the day it got worse until I was coasting it everywhere to get home and stop the noise!

Any gear, any speed, come off the gas and serious vibration and a grinding shuddering noise all the way down the revs. Push clutch in, it disappears, get on the gas and it disappears? Try and reverse the car an the noise and vibes come back with a vengeance.

There is a loud clunk when engaging reverse, then the same vibration/rumbling when driving in reverse as when off the gas in forward gears. The clutch pedal bites about 1.5" off the mat and has done for a while.

Over speed bumps there is a sound like something loose front end, although this may be something separate.

Any ideas? I'm hoping it's not going to be an expensive one but it feels it!

Thanks in advance.

James

It could be anything from wheel balancing, drive shafts, to suspension might be worth taking it to honda dealer or tdi-north or if you are near to north hampshire tgm in fleet they are both honda specialist.

I'm going to drive it (gingerly) over to TDi North and see what's what. Hopefully nothing too serious. Fingers crossed!
