Best intake for FN2?

Messages

Hi there! Im after an induction kit for my FN2 but not sure what one to go for as there are a few to choose from. I was after a HKS with heat shield but i've been told the ones with a cold air feed are best. Been looking at the tegiwa one as well. Can anyone help?
Cheers

Have look here: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?83004-Money-well-spent-mods-for-the-FN2&p=1054340&viewfull=1#post1054340

Much of a muchness really.

I did a test on the HKS RSK as a lot of people bring up heatsoak: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?65480-Loxy-s-silver-FN2-GT-J-s-Braces&p=1100270&viewfull=1#post1100270

As you can see, it's not as bad as everyone makes out.

The HKS sounds mental in VTEC, the Tegiwa one may give you an extra 1-2 bhp when mapped, but sounds very quiet and just a bit louder than stock. Personally, I went for noise and got some good gains along the way.

I have the HKS fitted on mine, does sound awesome big improvement there. I bought mine as a deal with included heat shield, which makes life easier then having to fit it after if you do get any heat soak.
not yet had it mapped/dyno'd so cant say much about the power gain, but many people say it does give good gains.

The best aftermarket is Hybrid racing CAI, then skunk2 although there's little between them id imagine

Skunk2 has the issue of the MAF housing splitting if the jubilee clips are positioned in a certain way, as it is under load when fitted. The Hybrid Racing doesn't have this problem. Just something to think about, the Skunk2 is a cracking intake.

HKS RSK then. The Tegiwa one is a closed airbox and almost sounds stock.

No 1: Si Civic Hybrid Racing
2: skunk intake
3: CPL Racing Intake
4: probably tegiwa
5: HKS. The heatshield does not prevent heat soak IMO, not to say it won't make power when moving at speed. If I was on a budget I'd be tempted to buy one just for the loudness

1 & 2 are difficult to install, HR will not fit with stock fog lights
