BMC - Filter change?

I've had my BMC induction kit on my car about 18 months/20,000 miles now. I'm wondering if it's about time I changed the filter/cleaned it. You can buy washes for these can't you? :?

Sorry, typical girly question. And you'll probably tell me I should have changed the filter a long time ago!!

What's best? Filter change or putting a wash through it?

Just use the K+N or similar kit to clean and oil it KT.
