PLS HELP MY CAR STEREO STOPS PLAYING AFTER DRIVING MY CAR FOR A WHILE. IT COMES BACK ON AND GOES OFF AFTER A FEW SECONDS. IT KEEP DOING THAT AND WONT STOP UNTIL IVE STOPPED THE CAR AND PARKED IT FOR AT LEAST 30MINS. THE STEREO dash board lights up. am going to upload the stereo dashboard so you can see exactly what am talking about.

Sounds like something in the amplifier on the stereo is overheating, cutting out and when it's cooled sufficiently it comes back on.

The longer you leave it, the more you get play time when it comes back on because it takes longer to heat up.

What stereo is it? Standard? I'd probably just replace it, save the faff.

Oh and your caps lock key appears to have a mind of it's own. ;)

is the standard stereo. i don't mind changing but i would rather prefer to upgrade to Pioneer the Avic-F20BT. do you know how much it cost to upgrade and do your know anyone that has upgraded his/her fn2 stereo.

Can't comment really, I'm an EP3 boy. Two options:

1) Google fascia adapters/wiring harnesses. I expect you'll need a particular harness that allows the dash display to work properly. Don't quote me on that though. Also, are you fitting yourself? If not, I'd find a helpful local ICE shop and just given them a call. Nothing ventured...

2) Wait for someone else to come along and assist who has done it, I expect there's a fair few on here.

Water getting into the display unit somehow normally causes that display issue. That display is separate from the stereo and although it connects to the headunit as it displays the headunit info it also shows you the heater controls.

Headunit going might have fried it however and it isn't water ingress.

Headunit change is easy enough, though long winded. Chap here posted a few pics of what is involved: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/s...LTEK-ZORST**&p=1003976&viewfull=1#post1003976

Good adapters can be bought from Impulse Audio (now via HondaBitz) as you can't just swap the headunit, it won't work, you need the harness adapters for the heater controls etc. http://www.hondabitz.com/?category_id=162

Personally I'd take that to Honda or a decent auto electrician for a diagnosis as it might be the headunit, or it could be more involved than that.

My screen did that a few times and stayed on a day or so then went back to normal. Hasn't done it in ages so fingers crossed.

my head unit only lights up when the stereo starts playing up. after i leave the car for 2 days it usually goes back to normal. but when i start playing music whiles driving it goes back the same problem after about an hour. and it also happens when i rev hard. i called Honda and they said mu car has been recalled back due to the engine wiring harness. i don't know if this could cause the problem with stereo. any one that have a 2007 model should contact honda it might have been recalled back

Total piece of string.

Depends what head unit, where you buy it from, what adapters you use, who you get to fit it, what their labour rate is, etc. etc.

This is why I said to pick up the phone and give someone a call, or Google the cost of the fitting adapters and the head unit and do it yourself. There's bound to be plenty of step by step guides out there if you search about.

http://caraudiodirect.co.uk is a good starting point for the headunit and adapters.

I doubt very much anyone will be able to give you an accurate figure with the information you need to provide tbh dude.
