check the mute wire at the back of the headunit.. its probably earthing out and sending the stereo into mute mode.

do you no which colour the mute wire is? how do you stopm it from earthing out?

I had a similar head unit, as above, there's a wire marked phone or mute, you'll find that it's probably got trapped and earthing itself against the cage or bodywork, put tape around it and all will be fine.

i had a pioneer in my nissan and it kept doing that every time i was any switch in the car, it turned out the earth was crap, relocated and all was good

it's usually yellow, yellow/black or pink..

It usually has a sticker on it which says "MUTE"
