EP3 Clutch Query

Messages

Hi guys,

need to get a clutch changed on my ep3, Torque GT are my local specialist so i am probably going to take it there.

the question i have for you is Exedy or OEM clutch kit?

GT have quoted with the Exedy however ive heard pros and cons to both OEM and Exedy..

just looking for some advice

Cheers

Craig

I think the exedy ok as long as you use a genuine honda release bearing.
But Honda clutch can be had for around £150

This has been covered a million times and several times this week already

stick with Honda clutch, well tried and tested and general consensus is this is the best way forward unless running forced induction

I've just put Genuine kit in mine. Cheap enough and so far so good

Noobie question..

If a new clutch has been fitted to an EP3, is it visible to see in the engine bay and will is there a significant difference to feel? Possibly buying one next week and the owner says the clutch has been done and has receipts.

cheers

No way of knowing really. Sometimes you can see marks on the bolts from a spanner but you can’t see the clutch.
If it’s new, the pedal should feel light with biting point around 1/3 to 1/2 of the pedal travel.
