Cosmic Grey EP3

Tought i'd do a quick update with a couple pics from the weekend.

As requested here's a side view of the cars with the Rota Titans

Here's a close up and a front view, it's kinda hard to show the slight concave.

I was going to but thought I would have been rude to say , they Are stunning and suit the car really well

Met up with a few friends tonight, one of them has a Glanza. This thing is running around 300bhp and is an absolute rocket! Some of you may have seen it on track at Japfest this year.

Another quick update.

My RPB front discs turned up from Tegiwa today, they look awesome and
are also coated all around the rim of the disc to stop that rusting aswell as the centers.

Right I have been quiet for a few months as I have been extremely busy, but I have a fair few updates aswell.

Firstly I bought a mugen wing from Fibreworx. Excellent fitment, just needed a little bit of standing and it was perfect. Alex was great do deal with and kept me up to date at every step. OI then had it painted by a place called Restoshack not far from where I live who did a beautiful job at painting it. Usually they restore classic cars like old skool Porsche's.

Next I bought some Cosworth Street Master pads to go with my discs. This set up seems to work really well. Stopping power has improved quite a bit combined with my Hel brake lines and I also had the brake fluid changed.

Then I decided to buy the tegiwa scuttle tidy and bought the other silicon hose to go with it. Looks so much better and tidier now

I then entered the final round of the Straightliners Drag and Drift event at Dakota Raceway in Smeatharpe in Devon. I ended up coming first in class and also won this years championship in the FWD class. It was absolutely hammering it down all day, but the little Honda held its own very well against some pretty fast cars. The lack of grip evened it up nicely between everyone and it was really competitive, but also a great atmosphere and a lot of fun and banter between everyone racing.

Here are a couple youtube links to a few of my runs.

After this black Friday came along so I seized the opportunity and bought myself a new oil cap and 2.5" cat back from Tegiwa.

So this is where the absolute ball ache started. First of all none of the gaskets tegiwa supplied remotely fitted the flange on their centre section, let alone the standard catalytic converter on the car, despite being told by them that it was a direct fit and replacement for oem.! Also the holes on the flange were all out by atleast a millimetre so it would not fit onto the bolts of the cat. After having to go buy another gasket, which to be fair only cost me a quid, me and a mate drilled and filed out the holes on the flange until it fitted and used some proper heat sealant for good measure. I contacted Johnny at Tegiwa who couldn't apologise enough for the problems and said he'd look into the problem. He has always been excellent with customer service when I have spoken to him and very helpful.

Even with the small problems I have too say that I am very impressed with the Tegiwa system. It is still loud-ish, but still subtle enough that I don't have people looking at me like an idiot like I did with my Spoon N1 haha, even though I was running an oem centre section with the Spoon it was still loud and boomey if that makes sense and used to drone a bit, which used to irritate me like mad. Now I can enjoy a conversation with a passenger and not have to turn music right up. The car feels a lot better top end aswell, like its no longer being strangled by the oem pipe. Cant wait for next years drag and drift even to see how much of a difference it will make.

Check your discs before fitting. I had an issue where one of the discs wasn't manufactured correctly. The discs are directional because of the cooling vanes and on one of my discs the vanes were the wrong way. I'd imagine majority of people don't check and there may well be a few people with dodgy discs fitted. But they handled the situation very well and posted out a new disc for next day which was correct.

Yeah i spoke to Johnny at Tegiwa and asked a few others and their on the right way, no problems so far. They have been on for about a month now :)

Hi Pal,

first off, cracking example of a Cosmic Ep3 !

I was wondering if you would recommend Fibreworx for the rear wing that you have fitted ?
I know you seem happy enough in this post. I'm tempted to buy one, but I've found that the fibreglass stuff never really fits that well. They do mention on their site that adjustments, and or, trimming may be required.
I'd feel a lot better if I thought it was only a case of buying, painting and fitting !

Cheers!

The one i got from Alex fitted extremely well, just needed to give it a little sanding around the screw holes and on one of the back edges. The holes lined up fine, just make sure you test fit it first. He does state that his wings should be checked and installed by a professional of necisary, but i didnt have any issues apart from a little sanding which took literally 2 minutes.

Their deffo an improvement over stock for sure, ive got hel braded lines aswell and just had the brake fluid changed so it's all working nicely. No complaints with the pads either. I might try the forodo ds2500's next just cus everyone raves about them being amazing, but apart from that im very happy with the set up.

Lovely Cosmic Andrew, love the wheels!

With the Sportline springs you fitted, i see on Tegiwa and other sites that sell them state they are 40-50mm drop front? is this what you have mate? if so are they on standard shocks?

Thanks mate, apologies for the questions again

Luke

My springs are the Abp/Eibach 30mm springs only available through ABP Motorsport who had them specially comissioned when eibach changed their pro springs from 30mm to 15/25. I have run them on the standard shocks for two years and been down some horrendous roads several times, hit pot holes etc.. And they have always been fine. Ride feels a tad stiffer than standard, but still comfortable.
