couple of questions on Intake

I am thinking about getting a short arm induction for my fn2 mainly for a bit more noise..

I know cold air will provide cold air and done some reading on heat soak problems with short ram. However

1. Is it damaging to the engine to get heat soak?
2. Do you LOSE power with heat soak?
3. Does leaving some of the original piping installed help drive cold air to the air filter of a short ram?

Unless you're running some form of racing Civic or have lots of mods it really won't affect the car.
