If thats right, what sort of money will i be looking at to fix it?

Depends mate, but it would be the wrong side of £1k if I were a betting man as it'll more than likely need a new timing chain.

Avoid and move on to the next.

Could have jumped teeth on chain, which throws up crank, cam sensor faults ?

Avoid IMO, there's loads of others for sale.
