CW FN-TWO

Welcome :)

How come you left crab air out of interest?

They refused point blank to sign me on past my 9 year contract due to the defence review. So i voted with my feet, I could of hung around 18 months till my contract was up hoping that i would get signed on, or i could move on and earn much more money and have less hassle. It was the right move for me and the 6 people that followed me.

Nice one mate, sadly the forces isn't what it used to be anymore.. I am in the Army (in my 15th year as I type) but with all the changes happening including pension changes in 2015 I have recently decided to pull the plug on my 'Career'. Time for me to take control of my life, a bit of 9-5 will suit me down to the ground. There are also some proper helmets where I work at the moment.

I know I will get the "you only have 7 years to do" spiel tomorrow, but there is too much uncertaintly as far as I am concerned. I get a good resettlement package and a £10k 'resettlement bonus' which isn't too bad.

I think really It came down to i wasn't enjoying it anymore. I would get up in the morning and think "I don't want to do it anymore". Don't get me wrong i wouldn't change a thing, I've been all over the world to places i thought i would never see, I've even Flown in the back of a Euro Fighter and played around which some properly cool tech. To me It just seemed the soul was being ripped out of the forces and it was not a happy place to be, Still onwards and upwards. I'm Still working On Aircraft which is what i've always wanted to do Just a shame i had to come abroad to do it.

UPDATE....

Milltek cat back fitted, wasn't sure at first if i liked the exhaust note but now it's had time to bed in a bit (or I've got used to it), I really like the sound now. Theres a nice burble on start up, it is loud but not to loud.
Flash Pro and Dyno tune at TDI North was done last week, very impressed with the results. The throttle response is now instant much more of a punch at lower rev's feels more "Urgent" through the rev band. Rev limit was raised to 8500rpm . Figures come in at 216.4BHP at the fly and 157lbft of torque.

The dyno graph did highlight how much the standard manifold restricts the power so a new mani is on the cards i think.
TDI North also carried out a 3rd year service, it was the 1st time they have serviced the car and it won't be the last. they did a much better job than ABP have the past 2 years. Hamp oil filter and Millers Oil now thats service.:smt047

Excuse the crap iPhone pics

Nice car dude. Thinking of a Miltek cat back by the end of the year. I've had some good vibes about them.

Good to see the Milltek is not disppointing you. Its always a concern when you fit an exhaust as there is invariably differences between cars. My HKS is now a lot louder now it has a few miles on it, however it's a nice sound that is not intrusive.

When get around to fitting a manifold just beware it will change the exhaust noise level & sound.:)

Hey Paul, I think it was because i had 3 years of having a standard exhaust i just got used to the quite. Looks like it will be brakes next as the rear disc's are on there way out. but the question is do i go with StopTech big brakes or some Jdm porn standard sized set up????

Are you planning on replacing the rears only or looking at fronts as well?

Both. Always liked the look of Stoptech touring kit, I think the BBk would be a bit over kill for what i use the car for. I'm thinking of changing everything in one go, front & rears including brake lines. So off the top of my head:

Stoptech touring kit
Stoptech rear discs
Do-luck 6 line brake hose kit
Ferodo DS2500 rear pads
New oil.

Why not look at a set of Brembo's for the front? Set off a DC5 will fit with S2000 disks (so I'm told). Might save you some pennies.

I'm not sure it's worth the hassle to be honest, going rate for DC5 Calipers seem's to be around £450 then they need reconditioning, Maybe £50-£100 for new seals and painting. S2000 StopTech disc's £155, Pads £55, Add all that together and it's getting close to the price of the stoptech touring kit.

Know what you mean, price could be close for what is a 2nd hand set of brakes. I thought about the touring kit, in fact that is what I put a deposit on initially when ABP had an offer on them. What changed my mind was I was unsure how much better the touring kit would actually be compared to the standard brakes with decent upgraded discs, pads & braided lines. I didn't want to spend a grand on a set of brakes that then failed to reach my expectations. TBH the BBK is expensive but it really worth the money and I consider it to be the best mod yet! Again it depends what you want from your set up.

I'll have to take you out for a spin at the next meet.;)
