It's as I feared. The J's strut wasn't declared, hence why they are only willing to offer 60% of the cars value.
 
Ah that doesn't surprise me then. Have they given you the opportunity to dispute the valuation and buy back the car?
 
Ah that's a shame. I was going to suggest to buy back and strip what's left, eBay with collection only, to recoup the difference and scrap the shell.

Engine and gearbox alone, if the drive shaft didn't knacker it, would fetch an easy grand.
