I've never cleaned an engine bay thoroughly before. The closest I've come is wiping down plastic bits and my Gruppe M.

As you can see it's pretty minging at the moment. I don't have any specific cleaners at home and was wondering what's the best way of going about it.

this looks like a decent how to, i am going to take advantage of a 3 for the price of 2 on megs products at halfords

Thats a good guide imo.

Once it's clean, staying on top of it is easy imo.

Should do the same- but in all honesty I can't remember the last time I cleaned the outside myself, let alone the indside & engine bay.

Might get it done one day though

Never understood the need to clean the engine bay. Do many people do it?

Well I sometimes do clean mine and I always plan on keeping it clean once I have spend hours doing it.

A clean engine bay looks 8) and a filthy engine bay looks crap so I guess that's why people clean them :p

Just done it. Only a quick job though as light was running out.

Worked a treat in all honesty. I used Gunk Ultra and it just made the muck dissapear 8)

are they that good...

Here's the result so far (bare in mind it was gettting dark so the pic quality isn't that good, but you get the idea). With some proper effort and more time I can get it much better.

Will get it done properly during the week.
