took it round lydden at bhp show on 5th. all fine. met up with mates on sunday just gone and eml came on. plugged in a reader and came up with throttle position. something about the cat and one other. cleared them. light came back on after 10-15mins or so. plugged in again and throttle/cat came up again. cleared again. yesterday it came on on way to work (distance about 10-15miles). checked it and throttle again, so cleared it and was ok. 1st start this morning light on. used my reader and throttle yet again. cleared and went to work. after about 2-3 miles it hesitated/stuttered and eml straight on. again throttle position.

so my thought is the sensor as its come up every time. is there anyway of checking other than multimeter, as cant quite afford a new sensor with other stuff going on????????

Multimeter is the only way of telling what it's receiving. If it's reading wrong then any live OBD outputs are going to be wrong.

LOL, could be a TPS fault....

Multimeter.

One of the wires will be a constant 5v
One wire should be around 0v
The other is your signal wire and should read around 0.5v at closed and 4.5v at WOT. (As per hazz above)

Usually, middle wire is the signal on sensors.
