Will the metal choice of spark plugs make any significant difference in MPG or performance?

Not too sure, I've had my car serviced by APB and Honda hQ, known specialists with these cars....and both used NGK LASER IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS.

they are around £45 link bellow - they say in description they improve fuel efficiency and emissions but i would of thought this is minimal.

General rule of thumb is to go with what Honda specify as above here. The K20 is fussy about plugs and you'll know about it.
