Ep3 Scraping/grinding when setting off in first gear or releasing clutch off bite

Hi,

had my ep3 for 2 weeks now and covered 700 miles with no issues but yesterday I noticed my car made a grinding/scraping sound when setting off in 1st gear up a hill. It happens when releasing the clutch but only for like a couple of seconds or so. Again this morning it did it a couple of times. Does go away when the car is warmed up.

Best way to describe the sound is like a cow 'moo' or a chewbacca sound lol

Does anyone have this problem? I've tried looking it up...and always get clutch bearing etc but this car had a new clutch 20 k miles ago.
 
I get a 'moo' when I set off quite regularly but I think it's my rear brakes, they might be binding slightly.
 
Does sound like a squark from the reliece bearing , all depends if they fitted a cheepo kit
 
I get a Moo noise when i set off
I read up about this before on someones post mentioning that this noise relates to Differential when its engaged
I could be wrong but iv got this noise since i brought the car
 
My pfl DC5 does this every now and then. I've been told it's the thrust bearing.

Hi all.

The noise in the first video is typical of what I'm getting. It comes on just at the biting point. The sound in the second video sounds to be a lot more serious but could be from the same cause.

Hi.

It comes and goes so I'm hoping it's not to serious. I'm first UK owner and it did it when I picked it up in Feb 2010. The gear box works well even when cold so I'm disinclined to pull it out.

If ever I have to have the box refurbished I'll give an update on what was found out.

I was going to say that it sounds like the release bearing or weak springs in the clutch.
