EP3 Throttle Body Issues

Messages

I have a 2002 JDM Civic TYPE-R EP3.
I have suffered with idle issues for the last few months. It all started after the throttle body was cleaned/serviced. I was told that the throttle body's carbon deposits had eroded the metal, and the butterfly valve closed with gaps, which let air in. Now I have either an issue where the throttle pedal gets stuck, and requires a tap to loosen, as the butterfly valve closes completely. Or if I keep the valve slightly open, the revs intermittently drop to 500rpm while driving.
I have got it cleaned and checked multiple times, and I'm assured all the sensors are good.
I have now opened the throttle up to 1500rpm on idle, which annoys me a lot, and will most probably have a negative impact on fuel consumption.
I'm really annoyed with this issue, so much so that I'm considering selling the car, I otherwise love.
Please give me advice on what to do. What are my options.

Take it to a specialist that knows what they are doing with it. They'll tell you if the TB is goosed or not.

It could be a lot of things from a poorly setup throttle position sensor, gasket leak, MAP sensor or sticking plate and/or a combination of all or none of the above.

Someone who knows what they are on about are going to have to see the car.

Actually the guys I go to are pretty knowledgable. They say the throttle body itself has worn out, hence the gaps around the butterfly valve.
