i have just bought a Type R FN2 and the fan seems to cut in all the time is this normal? The temp stays were it should be just below half.

I'm no expert on that model mate but as an engineer if cooling isn't required the fan will be shut off to save energy.

Might be an obvious question but have you checked the coolant levels?

I can't say I've noticed mine cutting in and out an awful lot but then mine isn't a quiet car anyway.

As long as the temp gauge is sitting below half I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It could be that you have a race thermostat like Spoon or Mugen. That would make it kick in more often.

yeah all the levels are fine. This use to happen when i had a Saxo VTR years ago and that was fine. I will keep my eye on it. Cheers

yeah i wouldnt worry, its when it doesn't turn on you need to worry

It could have a low temp Fan Switch.
