Fans Not Working on AC/Heater

Messages

The fans on my car have suddenly stopped working and doing some searches/Googling it looks like it could be down to the resistor pack behind the glove box.

It looks as if some people just short the two connections rather than buying a new resistor pack?

Hoping to save some money I was looking at doing the same so wanted your thoughts on the fix.

For more info this is the post I looked at http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?67958-Heater-Blowers&highlight=heater+resistor

Do you guys think this is safe for the long term or just a way of diagnosing I need to replace the resistor pack?

My local dealer says it's an £80 part?

For part number 79330-S6A-941

The car seems to be draining money at the moment so I could do without spending £80 if possible.

Looks like the price has gone up then. Try a breakers?

EDIT: There's loads of civics being broken on ebay and this part is not specific to Type-R's.....

When you push the A/C button the compressor will switch?
When not you have to change the A/C relais in the fuse box which is located in the engine bay.

Or the the fuse for the a/c radiator

I shorted the connection to test it was the resistor pack and the blowers started working.

So I ordered one off an eBay breaker for £15 job done!

Thanks for you help guys!
