Just found this, it might interest some...

"Airbags are supposed to help save lives, not end them. That's why hundreds of thousands of Honda vehicles sold in the United States are being recalled or will need to be inspected due to potentially explosive airbags that could cause injury or death.

American Honda Co. posted a PDF file on its website saying a previous recall was being expanded to include some 273,000 of 2001 to 2003 model-year Honda and Acura vehicles to replace faulty airbags.

Now included in the recall are the following vehicles: 2001 and 2002 Accords, 2001 to 2003 Civics, 2001 to 2003 Odysseys, 2002 and 2003 CR-Vs, 2003 Pilots, 2002 and 2003 3.2 TL Acuras and 2002 3.2 CL Acuras.

"Affected driver's airbag inflators may deploy with too much pressure, which can cause the inflator casing to rupture and could result in injury or fatality," the press release said.

The message also stipulated an unknown number of vehicles were sold airbag service parts at collision and repair shops.

"Because Honda is unable to determine the specific vehicles that may have received the affected service parts through existing information, Honda will inspect an additional approximately 603,000 vehicles and replace those parts as necessary," the notice said.

The company added: "Honda is aware of several incidents related to this recall and expansions, and is announcing this further recall expansion to encourage all owners of included vehicles to take their vehicle to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive mailed notification from Honda. Notification to the expanded group of customers will begin in late December 2011."

To see if you car is included, Honda owners can log on to www.recallhonda.com or call (800) 999-1009 and select option four. Acura owners can go to http://owners.acura.com/Maintenance/Recalls.aspx or call (800) 382-2238 and select option four. Make sure to have you car's VIN on hand."
