Got no ideas on this anymore.

Are there any sites specifically that do the best deals etc for aftermarket speakers.

Looking at possibly just upgrading the fronts and door tweeters in the FN2. Just an all round upgrade in sound quality.

Not sure if I want a sub and rear speakers yet.

Any suggestions. Bit of a tech retard now days.

Pretty sure Ed upgraded his but I might be wrong.

if I can do myself I will but pretty **** at anything like this now days.

Last time I changed any car speakers it was in the first EP3 and it already had wiring.

Before that it was a 95 clio when I was 18 and I got someone to do that for me.

Yeah I did mine.

Stock head unit
Ipod connector (I had an iPhone at the time)
Hertz 6.5in components
Hertz 12in Sub
Hertz 4ch amp

There was also some sound deadening in the doors and the components were on purpose built mounts.

This is where I bought my kit from;

Then I had it fitted here;

This was basically all the kit

And that's how much room the sub took up.
The amp went in the empty space where the spare would've been

Cheers Ed. Sub a bit bigger than I anticipated but i'll take a look.

PM if you want but how much it all set you back? Fitted yourself?

Unless you're a bass head, you don't need a sub, good door speakers and some sound insulation does wonders. If you insist on one, Kicker do a nice slimline one.

What ever I do will wait until March once I know job status and bonus but just getting ideas to look around etc.

Was thinking of an under seat one but ideally I want to try and lower the drivers seat and will speak to Tom.

What's your budget for the speakers? Does your FN2 have tweeter mounts?

no specific budget. Not loads.

Got the tweeters in the wing mirror mounts if that's what you mean.

I honestly can't remember how much it all was. The parts were part of a special offer package at the time and I think it was another £250 or so for fitting, but that included fitting a Parrot Bluetooth kit as well

Hertz is good stuff for the price. You don't want to spend hundreds on high end Rainbow without getting the doors properly sound proofed etc, plus then you need a proper amp to drive them, the cost soon mounts up!

If I were you I would get a small 4 channel amp, some Hertz components, custom brackets made for the speakers and dynamat the inside of the doors. An audio shop will be able to do all of the work. Have the amp under a seat or on the rear of the back seats and see how you get on. If you then decide you want more bass then you can easily plug in a sub if you ask the audio shop to leave the cabling there.

Obviously you can change the above to suit budget. Sometimes audio shops can get things cheaper, sometimes it's cheaper to supply your own stuff. There are places that order parts in from the EU and you may get difficulty with the warranty in the UK, but keep pressing and you'll be fine.

nice one cheers.

E-mailed a couple of places. Time soon barrels along so fingers crossed first week of April.

Never know, might stick in a flashpro too.
