whats the furthest anyone has been on petrol with the fuel light on ??

They've said you can still do 40 miles once the light comes on if driven sensibly.

From the FN2 handbook:

You should get 50ish miles out of that if you get around 30mpg.

I get all panicky when the petrol light comes on so about 10 miles max.

I've never had the petrol warning light come on and the needle has been below the minimum. If the fuel is low then I fill up. No need to put your trust in a light imo.
