Full exhaust upgrade with cat (EP3 type R uk spec)

Standard 2003 EP3 type R (UK spec).

Looking for some advice as want to upgrade the exhaust end to end to try get a bit more horse power and a decent race sound (not too mad!!).
I want to keep the cat because the NCT (MOT) here in Ireland wont pass the car without the cat as they test the emissions. Another part of the test is a sound check to make sure its not over 99db (not too worried about that). Changing from a straight through might prove to be a bit expensive for me over time as I don't have anywhere to store an exhaust manifold and cat and i would have to change it over every year for the test. I wouldn't be confident doing that myself as i'd probably make a balls of it.

The Supersprint system with sports cat would be ideal I guess but its out of my budget and i think the sports cat are hard to get.

So far what has been recommended is to get my hands on a DC5 or JDM civic type r exhaust manifold with the cat, so that will change to a 4-2-1 + cat.
Are there better 4-2-1 with cat solutions?

So i guess the next part will be to fit a decent cat back exhaust to the above. I was thinking about Skunk2 Megarpower R as it has the wider pipes and sounds good, it also comes with a detectable silencer for when i need to bring to the NCT.
Is it possible to use a Skunk2 megapower r with a cat or is it straight through only?

I can also get my hands on the supersprint parts from cat back for a decent enough price but again will that be ok with dc5 4-2-1+cat.

I can also get exhaust pipe and backbox manufactured for a decent price by one of the local honda specialists here, they have a side business building exhausts; or I can get a Magnaflow exhaust manufactured here in Ireland (still have to talk to them to see if they do the manifold + cat too). I heard Magnflow might be able to build a section in the pipe that will allow me to swap out the cat only for a straight through alternative, but again I haven't confirmed that.

Any recommendations considering all of the above?

You won't get much gains of the above exhaust you have mentioned, especially if you want to keep the cat. I'm in the same boat I want a cat back exhaust I have a JDM ep3 which has a decent manifold, the centre pipe is what restricts the ep3, I'm thinking of upgrading the header, putting a spoon b pipe in and keeping the original back box, he cats are smaller in the JDM so I am fortunate in that respect
